gotta quick question for you g riders out there.....rims...
do you think it matters what brand? or is it just that more expensive rims have better designs? are volk and 5ziegn more pricy because they look nicer or does is help with performance at all??? thanks for your opinions guys!!

I personally would only buy a 1 or 2 piece forged wheel. I say stay away from all 3-piece wheels because they have a "gulley" that collects water and throws the tire out of balance in almost every rain storm. PITA
Cast and machined wheels are not a strong as forged wheels, but are usually cheaper. I-Forged wheels are probably the nicest/cheapest, unless you like the BBS RGR's. Either way you're going to drop $2-$3 grand on wheels w/o tires.

i would highly recommend getting brand name wheels. even if you just drive the whip on special occasions you just might come across a "sink hole" you can't avoid. from my understanding, Racing Harts are now made in china, so the quality is not all there anymore like back in '95. There are some however that are made in Japan. I'd suggest the JDM brands, and the very respectable usdm companies.
