Coupe Order
Coupe Order
Hey guys,
I placed my order in mid-January but my dealer hasn't even ordered the car yet and its the end of March. Does this sound right? I found this out because I went to my salesman to get my order number, and he didn't have one for me. Is this happening to everyone else?
Thanks!

Re: Coupe Order
yeah anthony, i placed my order November 4 but didnt get the order sent out till February 5 because of the wait-list, now delivery is scheduled for end of april...so its a 6 month wait for me...i live in detroit area, we have only 1.5 dealerships in the entire area (1 large, 1 tiny)
Ask your salesman how far back in the wait are you, and how many G's they get allocated per month.
They usually place orders in the first week of each month, so you will know in 2 weeks whether its been ordered or not.
But ask them if your on top or how many ahead of you...
Seems like you are getting the 6MT...very rare (me too)
good luck man, its worth the wait from what i hear!

Re: Coupe Order
That makes me feel a little better - but I'm getting an Auto, that's why I'm wondering about the wait. I got it fully loaded though and it's DG, which my salesman says is top demand right now. I just don't want to be dicked around and lied to. Thanks for the info and I'm going to see if my order makes it to the April allocation.

Re: Coupe Order
Sounds like your dealer doesn't get much allocation on the G35c. And of course he neglected to tell you that because it doesn't benefit him to tell you that.
Like mentioned earlier, ask him what is monthly allocation is, and where you are on their wait list.
Autos are alot easier to come by than 6MTs. Color is irrelevant since you are ordering the car anyway. The factory will produce whatever color is ordered - there is no constraint on DG or any other color for that matter. So he lied to you there.
If you don't mind paying $500-1,000 extra, you could find your car in stock right now at an out of state dealership and have it shipped to you via enclosed carrier. Some of the larger dealers have Auto coupes in stock now in just about any color you want.

Re: Coupe Order
no prob anthony...
great advice from z06....since its an Auto then it should be a little easier to come-by, especially if its fully loaded...
go to www.infiniti.com
Click on G35coupe, Click on Build and Search, Search a 150mile radius around your zip-code..checkout their inventories and call the dealerships to double check if they are not sold yet.
You will have a 1-2 day wait if you find one, not 3 months lol
Good Luck dude

Re: Coupe Order
I had the same problem but the dealer told me up front that because of the wait list he could not get my order in for 2 months. I ordered anyway but found the car I wanted using the build and locate car feature on the infiniti website. I checked the site two times a day and bought the car a week later by giving the dealer a credit card number over the phone (had to drive a bit, but the drive back home was great and I didn't have to wait 5 months). If you want the navigation, it might be quicker as the dealer I got the car from had to check his supposedly 20 person long wait (but no order) list before saying I could buy the car and sold me the car because no one on the wait list wanted the nav. Good luck.
