The last two times I have filled up the tank on my 2006 G35 coupe, the car won´t start.......I have had to pop the cluth to get it started......once started I drive it for a while and no problems starting again until the next fill up. Any ideas? The car briefly tries to turn over and then nothing........

 

well since you have to turn the car off when you get gas and it won't start back up... it's probably the battery

 

hence why it starts when you pop the clutch, it's not the gas

 

Well, I though this might be the case but the I don't have any problems with it any other time I turn the car off.....not over night or any other time where I need to turn the car off for a few minutes or a few hours.....I had autozone check the battery out and it showed good....

How long have you been driving this car? Have you had any previous experience that is similar to this?

 

Well, I've had the car since November, no problems like this until now, not even the check engine light related to the gas cap. Mayeb it's coincidence, but if I mess around with the gas cap, open/close and qtwist it some it seemed to help last time; i.e. the car would at least try to turn over. I'll probably take the car into the dealer tomorrow and see what they say.....

 

isn't your warranty still good? y aren't u taking it into the dealer?

one morning going to work i also couldn't start my car. the engine would just turn over and over and over...... but wouldn't catch. had to tow it to the dealer. took them about 3 weeks to figure out and repair, it was ridiculous. all they told me was that i had a problem with the fuel management system.
