Re: Coupe Diamond Plated Floor Mats: PICS

Okay, let me see if I can answer everyone...

I got them from http://www.extremespeedonline.com/sk/ I found Scott over at my350z.com He is the owner of the March 03 Z of the month.

Pricing (what I was quoted):

$100

$140

$40

$80

$120

I was the first to get this done for G35 coupe, so I had to take measurements and pictures of the regular floor mats to send him. It was a one time thing. He may charge more or less for others that want the plates now, or same.

The logo: It costs $20 to put the logo on per plate. Most people just put the logo on the fronts. It does not have to be the Infiniti logo. It can be anything you want. It can be "G35" if you like. Logo doesn't have to be that big either. You tell him how big or small you want it.

Yes, they will look a million times better with the graphite interior, but I think they still look kick *** in my willow. Especially with the pedals! Here is a pic inside a Z:

Do they stay put? They are virtually the exact size and shape as the regular mats. You'll notice there are indents in the coupe floor. They fit like a puzzle! No movement at all except for the driver's mat. There is no hole in the mat like the OEM mat to fix it in place. I think i will drill in a hole so I can use the built in rubber positioner under the driver seat.

What about in snow when they get wet, where does the water go? Hopefully I will not be brining in that much snow with me, but if I do... During the winter, I plan to lay down the original mats underneath these. Also, the logo is cut out of the mat, so it is really a big hole. All you would need to do is place some cloth underneath the hole to soak up the runoff.

What color are the logos, they look beige in the first one, then black in your car? The logo can be any color you want it to be. They are cut out, so you can place any colored cloth/paper underneath it and that will be the color. I went to a rag shop and put black suede underneath mine. You can put yellow, green, red cloth underneath if you like.

They will wear holes into the floor carpet? I don't think so. They don't slide around, so they aren't butting against the edges all the time.

"I think the mats are nice... I think would look even sicker on the black interior though... " Again, no doubt about it! You can check out other sites that offer these types of plates to see what they look like with a dark interior. But those other sites aren't exact replica shape matches, and don't have the pimped out logo.

Wholy bajesus. Thats incredibly cheap. My material cost almost match what he is charging for that set. Either a) he is using a different type of tred (maybe steel, yuck) or b) the material is scrap.

Regarldess, the plasma isnt going to work out very well. Been there done that. The ones you see in the picture were done via water jet and drawn out in CAD. They are 100% repeatable and always perfect. The plasma is going to burn the edges and deform the material. Not only that they logo will not be crisp.

Good luck, and god speed!

Re: Coupe Diamond Plated Floor Mats: PICS

They sorta look a little flimsy around the logo in the front emblem.
I know one of my buddies in a drunken stooper would wreck it somehow...

but eitherway ... not bad... not for me ..but .. not bad.

Actually, the front logos are pretty solid. It's the rear ones that are a bit flimsy because they are smaller and thinner. I affixed the cloth backing to the mats using krazy glue and tape. So it is very hard to bend the inner logo piece away from the cloth, thus making it less likely to bend/break.

I can do group buys, and have tried MANY MANY MANNNNNNNNNY times with 0 success. They just plain dont work.

The sooner the better on these. If enough of you show interest, I will do a GB. But only if the interest level is there.

Please email me if you have questions

I just picked up a 10foot sheet of material. Please contact me if you want a set cut. Also, I just picked up a good set of files so the logos will be crisper then ever before

Re: Coupe Diamond Plated Floor Mats: PICS

I have a set that is identical to the ones pictured in this post. I can let them go for 15% off what they list on my site.
