Guys, I am working with a 350z owner that made a kit for the 350z that replaces the rod with hood struts. I have installed the ones for the 350z, but they are not strong enough. Obviously our hoods are heavier. I need someone to please get back to me immediately on how much our hood weighs. If anyone took their hood off for the Stillen kit, please measure it tonight! I would apperciate it!

Once we get these strut kit complete for the G35, it will be forsale! It's worth it!

any cutting involved like the 350?

 

Not at all so far. The only part that might need a little trimming is the battery cover area on the left, just so it clears the bracket mounting. But no cutting needed for the strut itself.

sorry i wasnt clear, thats what i was referring to. iirc, in the 350z pictures he had to cut that area you mentioned and it left a gaping hole there (gaping imo). i have the brake fluid cover so that would probably require cutting both plastic covers.

i'm definitely interested. after work, ill check my service manual and replacement parts pdf to see if there are any weight specs. doubtful, but ill check.

 

This would not be like that. The strut clears the cover. It's only the small bracket. Right now I haev my cover over the bracket so its back on. It fits, and wil probably fit with the strut on it as well. I have done no cutting yet.
