Question Stop then shift ?

Im just wondering about peoples driving habits. question for AT guys- like

When your backing up or going forward, do you stop then shift into what ever gear, or do you roll a little and then shift. Because doesnt that f*ck your tranny up ?

I actually in reverse will shift into N before going into D because it slows the car down. Once the car comes to a complete stop then I shift into D and go.

Their have to been times when I had an emergency and did shift while slightly moving and nothing happened.

i see alot of women mistreat their cars , like when reversing, they shift into drive when backing out of a parking space, and i just see the car jut alittle. My mom had to replace her transmission from doin that soo much in her Acura 3.2cl. luckily she had warranty

I destroyed the tranny on my prelude (and I'm man enough to admit it) doing the whole neutral rolling nonsense. Automatic transmissions don't pump tranny fluid while it's in neutral is what I learned. Will kill your clutchpacks! If you like to roll get a 6MT, that's what I did lol

The best way to protect your tranny is to stop and then shift to whatever you want.

A must for AT pilots....!

Any time you back up you should always STOP before putting it in Drive! If not you'd better pray you still have a warranty....
