painted mine too.. I used gloss black instead of flat black.. one of my first mods.. DEFINITELY use ONLY duplicolor.. and you wanna use primer too before you start adding coats of color.. will last even LONGER.. I haven't had any chips either..

I went 4 coats of black and 2 coats of clear.

I just sanded the whole grille with 220 grit (I think) and put four coats of duplicolor bumper coating. It's flat black and that's what I wanted.

Haha I could care less about this thread being hijacked, I started it inquiring about a lip and it turned into a DIY! But I'll definitely check out the thread you mentioned...I thought about rear overlays but I don't think it looks that great on LR. I plan to drop my car also before the summer's over...I have a set of Espelir springs, just need some struts!

yeah it did go somewhat off on a tangent didn't it? sorry about perpetuating that.. The reason I did overlays was to deaden some of the abraisive contrast of the TB and red.. I agree w/ you... think it looks uniform w/ a LR so overlays wouldn't be necessary..

Hope you get the info you seek on your lip.. I'm getting a full bumper so unfortunately I can't help much.
