wheel damage... need serious help
hey guys, i need some help. i was driving down a two lane road and a car comin in the opposite direction decided to dart out into my lane to pass someone up, not knowin i was there. i slammed on my brakes and turned to the side of the road... unfortunately it had a curb, and scraped three of my spokes on my front right wheel. i know i should be thankful i wasn't hit head on, and there was no other damage to the car... but still it pains me to know my rim is damaged on my brand new coupe. do any of you know of some way that i can fix the damage? they're not deep scratches, just mainly the surfacing scraped off. someone please help, thank you

Re: wheel damage... need serious help
Try www.fixrim.com. Supposedly these guys are good (according to some other posts). There is one thing to consider, the paint on our rims is supposedly very difficult to match, so I have heard and seen pics on this forum of some bad repairs where the colors aren't even close. Just talk to them and see how close they can get it. If they can't get it with an acceptable percentage (unnoticeable), I would have them do all 4.

Re: wheel damage... need serious help
sorry to hear you messed up your rim already. I did the same thing when I first got my coupe.
I went to my dealer and found out they had an outside service that repairs the rims. It set me back $150 but it was well worth it.
Heres a shot of my rim after my repair. the damage messed the lip area of the rim about half way around.....
Check with your dealership and see if they have the same service. if you don't want to go thru the dealer, if they do provide the service, see if you can go around the dealer and deal direct with the repair service.....just a suggestion

www.fixrim.com , www.truwheel.com and www.wheeltechnologies.com are good places to start. Should set you back about $120 in any case.

Re: wheel damage... need serious help
I had a similar situation where I damaged both passenger front and rear rims. I took it to the dealer and they had an outside service fix them for about $220 (for two). They did an excellent job. you could not tell they were damaged.
I would ask your dealer.
