I just installed my my 6 wire 4-gauge kit (from Z-Xtreme) Thursday night and I noticed a fairly significant change in smoothness while idling. It seems that general engine response is improved, but I can't really qualify it. It's just a feeling that it's better. Overall I'm happy with the results of a good grounding kit.
