Re: Got my 6000K hid bulbs installed
Moog, what kind of bulbs are you using for your clearance bulbs?
And are those PIAA yellow fogs you got??? I was thinking about Yellow fogs but I was afraid that it would be too many colors (white, amber, and yellow)....
Got any front view pics of your car with all the lights on?

richie: I am using the stock H4 foglight bulbs, but I'm using a cover to produce the yellow light. I've had them on for over a year already. Check out this old post https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...view=&sb=&vc=1
GG35: yes its noticeably dimmer...it's fact that higher color temperature bulbs produce less light output. If looking at them head on, they "seem" brighter....but its actually an increase in glare.

Re: Got my 6000K hid bulbs installed
The standard 4100K bulb puts out the most amount of light (lumens) at around 2800 in a D2R bulb. The stock bulb in the '04 coupe (don't know about any other years/models) is actually a Philips 4800K CM bulb. It puts out around 2700 lumens. The Philips Ultinon puts out around 2400 lumens so there is noticeably less output.
However, a bluer light is more visible at night than a yellow/white light. That's why police cars use red and blue flashers. Even with the lower lumen output, the color makes up for a lot and the lighting is almost as good as stock with a much better color IMO.
Also, as long as the ceramic shield is in place, there should be no differences in glare at all.

Re: Got my 6000K hid bulbs installed
I replaced my stock HID bulbs with the Philips Ultinons a couple of weeks ago. When I pulled out the stock bulb, it was a Philips 85126+. If you look at the Philips site, that is their 5000K (it's really a 4800K but they call it a 5000K) bulb. I haven't pulled any others out so I can't say if this is true for the 03 sedans or coupes.
A 4100-4300K bulb will be around 3200 lumens IF it is a D2S (no ceramic shielding and used in projector assemblies). According to Philips, you lose around 400 lumens going from a D2S to a D2R. Therefore, a 4100-4300K D2R is going to give you around ~2800 lumens.
A 6000K Ultinon is rated at approx. 2800 Lumens, again, according to Philips IN a D2S bulb. A D2R bulb will be roughly 400 lumens less than that.
If you still disagree, please show us the source of your claims. I can back mine up.

al503: I don't disagree with you, I was just stated that off the top of my head.. didn't know about the change in lumens from d2s to d2r.. so if I were to get this it would be darker than the 6000k H4 HID kit that I have on now.. hmmm.. maybe I'll just stick with stockers than if that's the case
