Ha Ha! My bro ordered a D.G. G35.

This is so funny. I've had my car for about 2 months. I love it and have mentioned it, and sent pictures to my brother in florida about it. He went crazy over it and had been talking about buying one. I didn't take him seriously cuz' he's still in school. I talked to him last night and found out he's been keeping the fact that he ordered one about a week after I got mine a secret! So funny, I can't wait till Dad finds out. He is all about detroit iron and what not. Now both of his kids have commited the ultimate blasphemy!

Don't even sweat it. I was disowned by both of my parents when I went outside of the Honda/Acura family and ordered my G.

Re: Ha Ha! My bro ordered a D.G. G35.

Another interesting fact. I took my father out to dinner couple of weekends ago. I told him he was gonna have to ride in my car though. He had this look on his face like I had just sold secrets to Iraq. Funny thing is on the way there he kept complimenting the car more and more. Then I hit a wide bank turn of an on ramp and gunned it. The G of coarse just at it all up and asked for more. I also noticed out of the corner of my eye that my dad was giggling with joy under his breath. He loved it but he'll never admit it.

Nice to hear your bro ordered one too. Why don't you let Pops drive it? He might like it so much, he'll get a Sedan for himself. hahahahahah

I tried once already. He's so stubborn though. You post WWII generation. Plus it's a 6MT and he hasn't driven stick in years. That would be so cool though if per say he bought a sedan. I think infinity would have to do a commercial. He He.

Of course he loved that ride! It's impossible not to with an awesome car like that.

Maybe you can trick him into a test drive. Leave the keys at his place, and later set up some excuse where he has to move it or drive it for you someplace to "do you a favor".

Only problem is, you may never get you keys back!

OK. I have to ask. How old is your Father?
I bet I'm close to his age and I have a DG 6MT (so maybe I'm not the "post WWII generation" like him? I think I'm close to feeling insulted; or maybe old?)
And I bet he still remembers how to drive a manual too.

Re: Ha Ha! My bro ordered a D.G. G35.

No insults implied. It's just funny that's all. He's 63 years old and was a total muscle car greaser type in the 50's. He tried hard to instill that in me. My issue was not with him as much as his carrying over of old views from that War generation. Some of those include: no matter how good a japanese car is it was made by the enemy. He lost alot of friends and family I'm sure to that era so I can't be mad at him. That's what my teen years were for. Being 26 now I can appreciate better. More props to ya though for the 6MT. No reason to feel old, the car does differant things for everyone. Maybe restore some lost youth and in my case move me up to a more "grown-up" car. I just decide one day that I wasn't gonna wait till I was older to enjoy a vehicle like this, just me though. So remember life's too short so just drop the hammer and scare the ***** off yourself and some friends (or father). He He.
