AT vs MT

I am sure people have posted this question before though I didn't see a way to search the forum. Any thoughts on the AT vs MT on a daily driver?

Re: AT vs MT

For me, MT was the only way to go. I had an auto Mustang GT for about a year before I got my G, and it was no fun for me at all. Everyone I spoke to about getting the G in stick tried to persuade me out of it, telling me about how bad traffic is and how annoying its going to get. Its been a year, and i still love driving the car. Yea traffic sucks sometimes and you do get a stiff leg after a while, but thats all minor in comparison to the fun and excitement you get from the MT.

Now i'm not saying the MT is better than the auto, but for me it was the better choice.

So, back to your original question, I believe the MT makes a great daily driver, as I'm sure the auto does. It's all about preference though.

Good luck on your choice.

Re: AT vs MT

No bull$hit, & all joking a side, I'm going to tell you the complete opposite of G35Fanatic. As I'm in horrible traffic almost everyday both ways. It made no since to me, to get what I thought was a more sporty MT, when I couldn't use it.

I use my car as a daily driver, and I couldn't be happier with my AT. If I feel the need to be a little sporty I use the Manual Mode, which if get for down shifting and passing.

Its up to you really. What is the G35 coupe to you, to some people its just another car, others its a nice luxury coupe, some its an all out sports car.

I think that will help you go MT or AT.

Re: AT vs MT

I'd say not much at all, really close, but the MT might argue.

Re: AT vs MT

I think using the traffic argument gets old after a while. I live in the los angeles area. Im in more traffic then i know what ot do with, and yet, i stil dont find driving manual a chore. Not in the least bit.
So dont let heavy traffic be the reason why you go AT over MT. You gotta drive both to see what you prefer

Re: AT vs MT

I wasn't making an argument, and I'm not saying Columbus has more traffic than Los Angeles, but I personally find it a pain in the @ss to drive a manual in traffic, or while on the cell, or shampooing ones hair!

AT is smoother!

Re: AT vs MT

MT and traffic is what you make it to be. You can deal with it and love your car, or you can enjoy the nice AT tranny the car comes with.

When making your choice, my response is : if you have to think about getting a manual, get the AT. Most MT drivers wouldn't get AT and wouldn't even think twice about the choice.

Re: AT vs MT

If you want a performance sport coupe get the 6MT
If you want a luxury GT cruiser go with 5AT.

The G35C can be either one of those, so take your pick.
