Question bout new G

Just got the g35c and had a few questions. One, although the dealer said not to push the car till 1000 mi, i think i remember reading here saying you're supposed to every now and then. Is this true and if so how often? Also, whats the best way to wash the new car?

Thanks guys

Sorry, I don't know the answer to this. But, whoever answers, is there a recommended limit (speed limit) which you should keep your new 'G' under for the first 'X' miles?

Re: Question bout new G

there isn't a speed limit, but there is a rev recommandation.

from the manual you are not suppose to take the car above 4000x rev before 1300 miles break-in.
but some people say occasionally you should take your car up to 5kx or even 6kx when it's fully warmed up, as much of the break-in is for the transmission than for the engine.
so i would follow the manual recommandations for the first couple hundred miles, then after 500 miles start take it up a bit. then after 1300 miles do whatever you want , not quite floor it everytime though

There's also the theory that you should drive it hard from the very start to make the engine stronger in the long run.

I followed the manual's recommendations mostly, myself. No full-throttle starts, keep it under 4k, and don't drive at a constant rpm for a long time (avoid the cruise control on the highway) until you hit 1200mi.

Ultimately, I don't think you're going to hurt it whatever you do.
