with all these problems...

I've been searching through the forums because im considering buying a G.
I've read about all kinds of problems for these cars, but i dont think that will stop me from buying one because i love this car so much haha

I personally think all these problems occur cause of driving habits. These cars sound amazing and people drive them very hard. So could that be a big reason as to why they have so many issues? Instead of blaming the car maybe it is the driver? Given that their are so manufacture flaws, window motor, etc..

What do you guys think? and post your G's problems! (Include the year)

Spend some time in other sports car forums and you'll see that the G is not a bad car at all. Every car has its issues, but these are minimal compared to what I've experienced with other manufacturers and models. I love my G.

I have had my G now for 4years and running with no issues what so ever...well actually i replaced one window motor under warrenty and the radio did start to, fail besides that it has been great! I would get anything above 03 and no rev up. By a stick if you plan on going FI!

Well you asked, so I'll answer. First of all I strongly disagree with anyone that claims this car has a little amount of problems. Whether its mechanical or just something small that might annoy the occasional owner, this car has plenty of them! I'm about to hit 60K on my odometer, and I would honestly say if I had to list the amount of things I've experienced with this car, it would be just as bad as my Subaru STI, Subaru WRX, and pretty much any other car for a similar price (Evos, obviously 350Z, etc.)

However, I am by no means saying this has changed the way I feel about the car. I love it, and it wouldn't stop me from buying it either...it didn't. There are a good amount of aftermarket goodies available at your fingertips, and the car is generally quick out of the factory. I highly recommend this car if you have taken an interest in it...just keep in mind that you (most likely) will have to replace your window motors, the car eats gas like no other 6-cylinder I've ever seen, and strange noises from the transmission are not a strange thing!

GL

Matt

All what problems....?

All what problems....? Those of us that take good care of our cars and don't abuse them don't have problems. All things mechanical deserve respect like never letting your wife drive your car. This isn't a joke, the only car that ever let me down or caused me great expense was a car I let my wife drive. For several years now she's had her own car, all I do is maintain it for her so my G is safe!

I would say buy 06 or 07 if you can. Shop around, take your time, make sure recalls have been done on the 06 head lights. ( 06 pointed wrong so it would blind oncoming traffic ). 05 and up have the rev up engine. As long as your car is under warranty they will replace the engine if needed. Window motors, door locks, rear axle click, are known issues. The car is amazing though and you won't regret it. Also they go through tires pretty quickly and they are very large sleds in snow . I have my 04 and if I could I would get me an 07. Also realize this car is tuned very well from the factory so if you really want to get some HP you have to go FI. Otherwise you push just a little more from a pop charger and ztube. Some have chips to go over the rev limit but chips don't do a lot for these cars. Have fun and good luck.
