Value of Your Car

I was messing around on www.kbb.com, and noticed the trade value of my car is at 22k+, which is nearly 3k more than what it was when i bought it 2 months.

Must be nice.... I bought mine before the bottom fell out... mine is now worth about 6k less than what I paid for it!

but then again, I am comparing purchase price to trade in value....

KBB is basically useless unless you're selling it privately. A dealer will almost never give you what KBB says it's worth. Your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay you for it.

i've dealt with dealers who specifically go off of the blue book value....i mean small dealers won't....but the big names usually do.

Dealers go off NADA book value not KBB. I work with new car dealers for a living and not one of the ones I deal with use KBB.

I bought my 2004 coupe one and a half years ago for $23,000 and tried trading it in this winter for a 2006 Si coupe. They would not give me a cent over $12,000 when it's worth over $14,000 on kbb. I've adjusted to the fact that it wouldn't be worth it to sell my car in any way cause I'll just be losing money on the deal.

Lesson learned...not a time to sell a car right now.

Fully loaded, RAS, Navi, Premium, Aero, etc etc.
