Critical Coupe Clear Bra Areas
Critical Coupe Clear Bra Areas
I'm about to call the clear bra installer.
After my dealer graciously had the car waxed before delivery (without me knowing), the orbital buffer applied by whomever was on the street at the time and needed $25 from the dealer left some very nasty swirls and lines all over the car. It's twilight blue.
So I made the decision to fix it myself. Otherwise, the toadies at the dealer would just make it worse. I went by Classic Motoring Accessories here in Tampa, who I've dealt with before. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Not a sales pitch, just forwarding information http://www.properautocare.com/
I've expanded my arsenol with another Menzerna product and a buffer better suited for cutting. So I should get all this crap taken care of with some sweat and TLC.
Back to the Clear Bra. I want to cover the entire car. I'm not kidding. I'm sure I can't afford that, so my question is: What is necessary to ensure that things don't get nasty on the paint? In essence, I want to protect from road debris and the places where the sun usually shines to expose imperfections. I'm not as fanatical as this may sound. I just feel like it's great timing to try something like this. I'm thinking:
Front end
Entire hood
headlights
mirrors
Front quarter panels (except for aft, lower parts)
A pillars and outside roofline back and C pillars
blend with the rear quarters down to the panel line
Roof area in front of sunroof
doors down to the body side molding
rocker panels
top of spoiler
what little trunk lid area there is
Whaddya think?

Re: Critical Coupe Clear Bra Areas
I just spoke with the installer and it seems the widest the strips come in are 18 inches, which means I can't cover the entire hood without there being lines.
However, I can do some of the other things I'm thinking about.
