Year Differences

im in the market for a G35.
I was wondering what the differneces were between 04/05/06.

The price range I have places me in those years but obviously the lower the year the more ill be able to mod it..

the 04 manuals come with brembo's.
I also know the obvious differences like between 05/06 is the projector headlights and the taillights?

i think the 05+ manual versions have the uprev engine with 298 hp instead of the regualr 280?

Also i saw that from 04 - 05 the interior was totally redesigned, so what exactly was done?

my final 2 question would you guys say its worth it to get the 05/06 over the 04 cause of the uprev engine? and Is it better to turbocharge the 04 model or the uprev model?

Thanks guys

also one more question...besides the G35 im lookin at an Evo 9, i know itll be biased but does any1 have opinions on which car i should get?!?? im lsot

first of all.... use the SEARCH option.... all of your questions have been answered a million times... however , since i have already spent the past second typing all this, i will answer some of your questions...

1. 03-04 IDENTICAL, nothing has changed in terms of performance/interior
2. 05-06 have the new interior with better looking gauges and interior climate control/stereo controls (the speakers are all the same) + mp3,wma capability
the clock is also flush with the climate display instead of being in the middle and the clock is lit 100times better
3. 06-07 - IDENTICAL, nothing has changed, however they have the new projector headlights and different taillights (reverse lamp is rectangular + trunk button)
Seatbelt design has changed, for 5AT, you get the keyless entry option, 6MTs get the LSD and rear active steering option (rare)

as for performance, the 5ATs from 03 - 07 are pretty much the same, except in 05+ manu mode, it rev matches for better throttle response...

03-04s come with brembos but the 05+ have redesigned standard brakes as well and caliper design (not brembos) so its still good...

if you want performance, go for the 6MT 05+
if you want all luxury, go for the 5AT 06+

03-04s are not bad, they can easily be modified to bring up the HP above 300 with just bolt ons.... and there are tons of DIYs that show you how to change the interior to make it look ilke the new 05+..

to conclude, unless your getting an 06+ (which comes with most of the goodies so you dont' need to spend money changing stuff) , it doesn't matter what model year you get... evne if you end up getting an 05, you will want to spend money on the new projector lamps .

hope this helps.. i might be missing a few things here and there.

evo9 in my opinion looks like garbage, not a luxury car, if your in highschool, you can toy around with it....

since your only looking at MT, get the 05 (cheaper then 06) and change the lights Intelligent key is only for 5at.

so the only difference btween 05 and 06 was the lights??

so you would avoid the 04?

currently i got offered a 04 coupe fully loaded with navi with coils and rims for under 17 , or i could get a stock 05 for more

If your planning to mod and you have a budget you should just go with the 04 IMO

im also lookin at a evo9 also

im comming from a lancer and i tell you those cars grow off of you instantly! Its no evo but the looks of the cars are very boring. The only cars i really look at on the street are g35/37's and 350/70. the best stock looks and stock power for the money imo.
I just took the 6sp 07 g35 for a test drive and fell in love instantly!!

evo 9's look sick as hell, i dont know what you're talking about. he didnt state that he was looking for luxury, but a car to mod in the future. not bashing or anything, its just that my friend has an evo and i'd trade in a G for that anyday. its just that insurance for the evo is pretty much the most expensive rate out there and i'm not made of money :/

whatever the case, post pics after you get it!

honestly, doesn't matter what year G you have, you are going to end up modding it so the chances are, your 03,04,05,06,07 coupe will be better or average compared to all the other g coupes on the road..

no such thing as a bad G....

here ya go. another difference from 05 to 06 that wasn't mentioned was the premium package in the 06 comes with built in bluetooth and memory seats/steering wheel.
