So I'm meeting friends at Ultra, some new restaurant in downtown Toronto. They have valet parking where the valets take your car to a lot around the side. That night they also had pylons out front and were reserving 3 spots in front of the entrance (I guess for the 3 nicest cars).

I guess it's kinda snobby for the restaurant to do that, but I figure it's part of them advertising their image as a happening night spot...

Anyway to get to the point, the two valets want to put the G35 out front -- and they let me park it myself (probably figuring I'd want to). The two other cars there were a Ferrari 360 Modena and a new Maserati Spyder GT -- so the G was in pretty good company!

As I get out and start talking cars with the valets, we overhear some people walk by and one of them says: "That's my dream car, I want one of those" The other says "Yeah nice Ferrari" and the first replies "No, I mean the G35". Lol

Okay, enough of this shameless self-love... but just thought I'd share that with my fellow G's...

But I saw the Maserati Spyder on the road and it's definitely one of those "looks-better-in-real-life" kinda cars [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

 

yeah, i went to dinner at Yamashiro in Beverly Hills and they valeted my car next to the porsches, way in the front...

now thats what i call respect!

That's right brother.
You could throw big money at a car and more or less buy respect, or you could earn it by being smart enough to use a sane amount of money in the most effective way possible.

(hehe *how cocky is that?*)

Next to the G, the Maserati looks like a Hotwheels car. I don't think I could bend myself up enough to even fit in that.

 

It's true that the G coupe looks huge next to many other sporty cars. It even dwarfed my '95 BMW 3 series. But it seems to me that most cars are getting taller and more substantial these days. I wonder if it has to do with crashworthiness. It puts the G's bulk in a little better light when you consider its excellent performance in crash tests (and real crashes). Considering that the coupe goes, stops and turns like a champ in spite of its beefiness, and with so many big to immense SUVs on the road these days, I think I'll take the beef, thank you.

 

LOL it does look a lot taller and meatier than both other cars, but that maserati is ughh, in person they are pretty nice though and the 360 is WOW in person.. Silver is a pretty bland color though, my friends father has one in red and i saw one in yellow at this restaurant and there were crowds around it, sick carsss..

I would kill someone to own a 360 Modena.

But seriously the 360 Ferrari is the BEST car out there. It's only $160,000 (as opposed to the other supercars). It's a Ferrari. It has the sweetest engine: low displacement (3.6L) V8 that puts out 400bhp @ 7800 rpm -- high revving V8 baby. It looks smooth and sleek, not like the far out supercars. Now there's a ton of others, but the main thing is: it still comes in 6 MT version, something you can't get in an Enzo. Finally, when next to one, my G35 coupe looks like a clumsy BEAST of a car.
