i am looking to get a G35 coupe in early 2005. what is the back seat like? can it fit a baby seat? i am going to keep my pick up truck with the extended cab for winter driving and my car hobby (i.e. for trailering and a parts hauler) so the G35 is not for long distance transport for the baby, but i just wanted to ask some people who own one as to what the back seat is like.

Since no one has posted I can say this:

This topic has come up many times, and though a baby seat can fit in a coupe it is ill advised. The sedan seems better suited for this perpose. If you do a search there was some pictures post of a child in the back w/ wife in front. It was tight, and I wouldn't want a loved one sitting that close to the airbag.

Don't sacrifice the looks of the coupe because of a little inconvenience in getting a kid in and out. I have 2 kids that ride in my car all the time. My son was 4 months old when I got the car and the rear facing seat is a little tight but they're only in that for a year.

After they get out of that seat you'll be stuck with a sedan for who knows how many years wishing you had bought the coupe.

Check out these imagestation photos. It shows how forward facing seats have plenty of room to get kids in/out and they have more room than necessary until age 15-ish. You may have to register for imagestation if you want to see the photos. The photos also show the convenience of the "Super Mat" that goes under/behind the child seats. These mats were purchased from Target at a price of ~$15.00 each. They have saved my willow interior DAILY. The kids need a place to rest their feet (reads the kids need a place to put bottom of their dirty shoes) when they're in the child seats, and their legs are just long enough to place them on the leather seat. [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img] With the Super Mat, they place their shoes on the mat and the interior is spared.
