I was wondering if anyone else had trouble with their M/T G35s. I just got back from picking my 2005 M/T Coupe from the dealer after having it's transmission replaced (under warranty). It has about 50K miles on it, and the previous owner had the transmission replaced under warranty at 32K miles. Are there any problems with the transmissions in these? My warranty is up in July, and I'm worried about having to replace it again once the warranty is out.

Also, I still hear the same noise I took it into the dealer for before the transmission was replaced! If I'm idling next to a wall, say in my garage or at a drive through window, and I have the transmission in neutral (clutch engaged) I hear quite a bit of noise. If I depress the clutch, it's very quiet. I realize there are more moving parts when you have the clutch engaged, but I've never heard that much noise from any other manual transmission in the three previous vehicles I've owned. Are these transmissions just louder in neutral than I'm used to, or is there a problem? Aside from that, the new transmission feels much more precise when shifting and clicks into gear much more smoothly-

The rattling is common. Just learn to deal with it.

these transmissions are loud. the throw out bearing in particular. this is normal. unless you are experiencing shifting issues, I wouldnt worry about it.

From my experience once that original Tranny goes, nothing they do will be the same. GL!
