Brembo's for my G ?

Guys,

Can I get Brembo brakes installed on my non-Brembo 2005 coupe ?. The dealership says I have to spend about 6000$ for the install because the way the cars are constructed from the core is different. But they say I can get some aftermarket brakes which look like brembos ( cross drilled ) installed, which are better than the stock brakes

I heard of ppl getting Brembos installed on their G's before.

Anyone know if I can get brembos or any other brakes installed ?? Can someone suggest a good mechanic in the sf bay area?

Thanks !!

dealer is bull****ting you... the OEM brembos from an 03-04 6mt coupe would bolt right up to your 2005... you can prob find a used set on here or my350 for a good deal..

What I would do if I were you is get the g37S akebono breaks from Riverside Infiniti... they are great breaks with bigger rotors and calipers than the OEM brembos. They do need a bracket to bolt up but i believe riverside infiniti offers them as well.

+1 on this. As far as stopping power, this brakes are class-leading. You can't go wrong with the looks also.

Dont go to the dealership for anything. You can get everything you need on this site for alot cheaper and can sometimes find some cool guys who are willing to help you out.

dealer is BSing you.. a good condition brembo set runs a lil more than $1K, install cost maybe 250-300. That's like $1300 with install, give the rest of $4700 to sponsor us

Forget about OEM Brembos, people are still trying to sell their worn *** 03 brembos with like 50k miles for well over $1000. Get the Akebono G37 bbk brand new for ~$1900 in the marketplace.

It will bolt right up to your 05, look better, perform better, and be brand new.

i almost agree with hie entire post i have brembos lol

Price and product wise... you might as well pay a bit more for brand new brakes... the akebono's are actually bigger than the OEM brembos allowing for BIGGER rotors up front and in the back.

Looks-subjective
Performance-the same.

I have another option. 2k for brakes? I don't think so. you can find quality aftermarket cross drilled with semi-metallic pads for half that easily that outperform stock. There are numerous aftermarket sweet rotors with lifetime warrantys. Are the 1900 akebonos warranteed for life? I don't think so. Google I have owned several performance cars and have gone this route. (93mr2 turbo 344whp) 05 wrx 300+hp. I think 1900 for brakes for your 05 is nutz. Unless you have a money printer and don't care about price do it. It sounds like looks are weighted abit heavier for you than ultimate stopping power. use the extra cash for other mods.

And another thing...... LOL I don't know why anyone would buy used brakes??? seriously?? I don't care if they are gold limited edition brembos......

I just saw a brand new set of the infiniti akebono calipers on ebay for under a grand. The calipers or sold each but at this price it's a steal!
