Ipod connection question

I posted this in the audio forum but I think I'll get more responses here:
I have an 07 G35 coupe with the Bose radio. I dug around on here and it seems like the OEM and USA Spec adapters are popular.
Which is better?
Do they both offer the ability to control your Ipod/Iphone from the steering wheel controls?
Where is the best place to buy the OEM kit, and does anyone know the model #?
Thanks.

The way I read it, is that the only way to get the OEM to work is if the car came with satellite radio. If not, then you cant use the OEM.

wrong.
my car does not have sat radio and I got mine off of EverythingG35.com.
You can still use the steering wheel controls to change songs and such but it takes a bit getting used to at first.

Also for the newer gen ipod/iphones you WILL need to get a scosche adapter to have the ipod charging while it's in use, the older gen ipods don't need it. I found this out after my old ipod was stolen from my car and I got the newer Nano, it required such a device. you may purchase this adapter through amazon or through Apple if you'd like - I got mine off amazon.

Amazon Amazon

you're welcome.

I have an '07 Coupe and I installed the OEM adapter from everythingg35.com.

No, you don't need to have satellite radio installed for it to work, but the car has to be satellite ready, which I think the older ('03, maybe '04) cars were not.

I was a cinche to install and it works well. I'm currently using an old click wheel iPod, so thanks for the link to that adapter, I'll probably need it once this old beast dies.
