Cheap Car Insurance

Anyone have any advice on a cheap place to get car insurance. I've looked at all the major ones, but due to the fact that I'm 23, live in the city, and have an 06 coupe, I can't get a decient rate from most of these places. The cheapest I've found is like $132/month from Geico, but one of the guys I work with said to avoid them. Anyone have any experience with geico good or bad?

I just moved to Houston if there is anyone on here from the area that knows a good local insurance place

Dude insurance is black and white. You can see what coverage is and deductibles etc. Easy to compare insurances. I am sure people have complaints about every insurance company. Try "esurance" as well I think they work with several insurance companies to get you the best price.......

I've had Geico for a few years. Never had a claim, but also never had any problems with them. I pay around $85/month for full coverage with $250 deductables.

Rates are going to vary among states but in Cali I've been using Mercury for the past 8 years.
None of the other ins co could beat their rates.
I pay every 6 months.

Ya i tried esurance as well. I think it was around $240/month for decient coverage ($100,000) and high deductables (also $1000). Thats around where all the others were (Alstate, State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide) My drivers record is spotless as well. I don't know what the deal is, aside from the facts i've mentioned.

I think i'm going to go with Geico, but I'd like to hear from someone that has had to file a claim with them if there is anyone on here

$132/month is a good rate. Cheapest for me at 21 was $198/month full coverage through Progressive and I live in Houston as well. I went through Brian Wright with Wright Insurance group to help me find that rate, otherwise I would've been paying $220-$250/month through other insurance companies. I can send you his number/website if you'd like.

It may have something to do with your credit score. A lot if insurance companies apply that # when figuring out your rate. Why I don't know???

not really cheap in canada. or atleast not in vancouver area.

Im 24 with a 03 coupe. I pay about 230 a month. Thats with a 40% discount, 43% being the max which i will have in a months time.

we only really have one insurance company ICBC. so its a monopoly. Maybe in other provinces it might be cheaper. but the vancouver area is not cheap.

If you have a family member that is part or was part of the US Armed Forces then you can go with USAA. That's what I have. Complete coverage at the highest level with $250 deductables and I only pay $60/month. Then again I live in the dirty south (North Carolina).

Ya after having talked to a bunch of people today it seems like USAA is the way to go if i can get into it. Thats the insurance my Grandparents have, so my grandpa is calling his agent today to see what he can do for me.

Its not my credit score... I have about as perfect a credit score as someone my age can have (4 cards in my name, never missed a payment, all bills payed on time, have a car loan in my name, etc)

Ngofcukinway can i get that contact info? Another quote can only help me.

I got real lucky, I have allstate for 87/ month $1000 deductible(the body shop won't let you pay 1000 if you know the guy) 50k/25k in NYC for a 05G35 coupe and i'm 21.

p.s: i made sure i got every available discount, from good student, to good credit, and abs brakes ect. They wont give you discounts unless you point them out.
