OEM CD PLayer Is Not Working..Help!

I have heard these cars are notorious for this.

I get home from a week vacation and 4 CD's will not eject. It just says push eject and it makes these grinding type noises. I dont want to put an aftermarket CD Player in, is this fixable?

its fixable
you probably have to buy a new or used OEM Infiniti Headunit..
but id say it would be cheaper to go aftermarket

im assuming that your warranty has ended. You'll need to replace it because there's no way to repair the headunit alone.
you can buy a used OEM Headunit at the marketplace or ask tony@riverside.

but if i was in your situation, id just put an after market double din player in.

Crutchfield carries a kit that includes the upper center stack (only in black or silver-NOT Willow), also includes the A/C controls (but NOT the "Dual" button). It does allow you to install either a standard DIN or preferred double DIN receiver.

Total nut including the kit and DD rec. around 400 (basic CD-multimedia units go up from there)

Yeah man, this happened to me. I just bought the Metra kit for like 200 bucks and a double din radio for like another 208 bucks. I didn't need anything crazy so I just bought the cheapest **** out there and so far so good. In total it cost me about 458 bucks to do the whole conversion with labor. Just remember if you go the OEM route and get it in a junkyard or something.....it might mess up again after awhile....... I didn't want to take that chance.

Hey I had the same thing happen! I did some research and found that buying an aftermarket deck like an Alpine with a Metra dashkit for instance, is the way to go. And for example when I finished installing my Alpine deck the BOSE stereo sounded wayyyy better. You have a lot more tuning capabilities with a new deck like something like my Alpine IDA-X100. Plus not to mention the beautiful quality of the iPod hookup!

Also another thing to let you in on is that if you buy a stereo from crutchfield they'll give the dash kit for only a 100 bucks.. My total spent was $360 shipped!

I don't like those grey buttons. I hope I can fix mine without having to go that route. Probably going to tear apart my frickin head unit some time this weekend just to see if there's anything obvious that's causing the problem.

I felt the same way when I first bought the kit but I got over it quickly once I heard way better equalizer on the BOSE speakers with the new deck

^ Ewww, someone's center console needs a cleaning... Just playing, although it does look like mushrooms may sprout around that iPod at any moment.

How hard is it to remove the center console on our cars?

On all my old cars, they simply pulled out without even removing any screws. I've just never tried to remove it on my G yet.

The CD changers are notorious for going bad. Mine is starting to skip here and there, but it's still working. I have the Elite extended warranty when it decides to crap out. I know it's expensive.
