Paint Chipping Problem
Paint Chipping Problem
Hey guys, before I get into my problem I just want to give some background into the vehicle itself:
I purchased a 2006 G35 Coupe OB 5AT exactly one week ago and have driven it quite a bit in its first week with me - I have the excitement to thank for that.
Well, 700km later, I am beginning to realize chips in the paint that didn't exist previous to my ownership. The car has not been driven on any roads other than main streets and highways and I have taken extra care in keeping the car in great condition - dusting often and maintaining a once a week wash. The chips are most likely a result of stones / debris on the highway.
Now, the problem with these chips are that they are right down to the steel. I am starting to worry that the paint job is shotty or something of that nature, but I am not entirely sure. I am considering taking it to the dealership later on this week to find out.
Anyways, what are your thoughts and can you give me some possible remedies for this problem.
I will attempt to get pictures of the damage up as soon as possible.

The paint on our cars have always had issues with chipping. Best bet is a a clear bra for at least the front bumper. You will need to repaint the bumper and damaged areas before installation. Once you do the repaint, make sure you get it installed before you do any driving.
