Let me know if it gets totaled and you buy it back and you end up wanting to replace some of the body with CF. I am looking for some Black OEM donor parts.

Your original post sounded like there wasn't much damage but having seen the pic you have some severe suspension damage plus body work. I've seen pic of our cars with less damage and they were totaled....Ouch! This is very sad to see....

Totaled depends on the insurance company. It is when to cost to fix the vehicle is over a certain percentage of the total value of the car. I have USAA, they total anything over 50% of the cars value.

So if the car is worth 20k in KBB and my damages were more than 10k to fix, my car would be totaled.

well the value is 16,600. I'm guessing its going to be around 10k to fix it. When a truck hit me last year, just to replace the door and rear quarter panel the total was $5500. There was no frame damage fortunately. Dont know if im going to fix it or just let it go.

They decided to fix it. The problem is i never putt some of the aftermarket parts on my policy and they want to replace them with OEM parts. For example the two wheels on the driver side are pretty messed up , they don't want to cover the full cost of two new wheels , they said they would only cover $200. I got quoted $650 for the two. Can I do anyting to fight this or do I gotta pay out of my own pocket since it wasn't on my policy?

Unfortunately I think you're SOL on the wheels. Unless you have aftermarket parts written into your auto insurance or personal property insurance policy, any damage done is not covered. They will give you money towards OEM parts, which in the case of a new front bumper and fenders could work out in your favor. Meaning you could potentially pick up a nice aftermarket setup for less then the cost of new and use the left over money towards other things like.... new tires.

Damn sorry to hear about the car. Looked like it was going to be a total loss. What was the estimate from your insurance company?

dont know yet, I just started to investigating on my own. Been pretty busy with other things. If they dont cover it, ill just buy new parts for it again. I'd rather fix this car then buy a new one. Its paid for thats why. Im not looking into getting into car notes again.

Yeah that makes sense. I was in the same position when I had my Acura. Had an accident and could have totaled it out but I chose to repair it because it was fully paid already.
