Click Click Click

I have the rear axle click I think several people have, m 05 with 50K just started doing it...sucs that its just over a month after the basic warranty expired. So now to get them to look at it will cost a $100 and if its something like re-greasing it then it will be about $230 total. They tell me that re-greasing is not covered by the powertrain warranty the car still has. So if they click fix is just to regrease it, is that something I can do on own?

Can it be something more serious that powertrain would cover? Is greasing it just a short term fix?

I have a stillen exhaust, do I need to put oem back on before I left them see the car, I dont want them to say that it voids my remaining powertrain warantly or some BS like that..what you guys think?

from what I was told, it is not something we can do on our won as they have to replace bolts.
on the bright side, it is a sound issue only, and shouldn't cause any technical issues.

hah. i have same exhaust too..
I am not taking it off.

by Moss's pact, they can't void warranty due to an aftermarket exhaust, unless that exhaust is causing a problem.

You can do it yourself. There is a DIY on my350z.com I will be performing this on a car in the next few weeks.

Try another dealership. I complained of axle clicking at around 90k miles (i now have 100k) and a dealership I went to said they would take care of it free of charge. Unfortunately the clicking was more of a knocking and it turned out to be a bad endlink, which was not a TSB. But they were willing to do the axle click for free. It may be covered under the powertrain warranty as the previous poster said?

You can do it yourself. I found all the necessary info in there and should be doing it in a week.
