in maintenance cost? you will hands down. be sure to laugh in his face when his $7k auto transmission takes a dump on him at 60k miles. or he starts getting oil leaks like it's going out of style.
your comment is ignorant and biased. Your g transmission is twice as likely to break down than the cls at 60k miles.

negative. i pay claims for mechanical breakdowns. if you're a MB owner, you should be aware their gaskets, bushings, rubber mounts are very likely to fail numerous times before you hit 100k. and expensive modules throughout the car for all your bells and whistles? no thanks. gotta pay to play but i'd rather sit that game out.

honestly, i have yet to pay for a g35/m45/fx/qx transmission while i've paid for dozens of transmissions for MB and BMW since i've worked for this insurance company. my comment is not ignorant because i know how these vehicles work and i know what kind of money goes into them. it is not biased since i am using actual claims data and know what kind of profit-loss ratio is on them. work a week with me and you'll be eating your words.

I'd think the MB would win, on the track of course.
But as pointed out earlier I bet you win in repair costs and initial expenses buying the cars.

Stock for stock? MB hands down unless it needs a driver mod.

FI G vs. stock CLS500, well sky's the limit....

ex. Take Mike's (XKR) super G coupe or Tom's (ttrank) Super G Sedan and that Benz won't even know what hit em

I prefer driving my G all day over the benz. I get more compliments on the G then I even get second glances driving the benz.

If your G is auto, you lose. Period. If it's manual, you have an ok chance.

Well said. People can't argue facts, just opinions.

BTW, you have the funniest sig I have seen on here. Well done.

but its 4000 lbs, thats 500 more then the g

also like most people say, the mercedes non amg cars are *** when it comes to acceleration

In MB there is a little button at the bottom of the accelerator, you have to push the accelerator to the floor and click that button in something few MB drivers do on a day to day. It has given many the impression that non amgs are slow to accelerate because they are heavy. This is not true a cl500 as will a cls500 stock for stock will take a g any day of the week. I have lined the cars up on numerous occasions this is not a guess. After all modding (plenum spacer, exhaust, test pipes, intake, headers, clutch/flywheel) my 6mt g romped on the cl500 and cls500 but lost to cl 55 amg.

Modded its a drivers race and of course how much money youve put in. Stock for Stock cl wins.

Im not saying that but MB has a gradual downshift upon acceleration the click button drops it to the gear you would drop it to if you were using a mt. If you just push peddle down without click it doesnt drop to the gear that takes you closest to redline.
