taking care of the g

my paint is in great condition, no scratches and the clear coat is perfect.

i want to put a wax or something on so that water and debris will bead off.
also to give it a nice shine and gloss.

what is the best product out there ? i dont want to do any fancy things that will take a while and might mess up my g if i make a mistake.

thanks !

go to your local Store and pick up Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 in liquid forum. Its actually a sealant but it makes your car very glossy and beads like crazy .

IT comes with an applicator just put a little on your applicator and just apply to your cars paint go around your car with it. Apply in thin layers, then go in have a drink or w/e and in 30-60 min do a swipe test. If its good wipe the whole car with a MF cloth from were you started. Easy

Swipe test = just take your finger and swipe were you started if it comes off clean and there's no streaking your good.

Of course there are other products but this is simple and works well and you can pick it up at any auto supply store. You might also want to get a clay bar before you wax. its also another simple task.

Yes thats a G

PM me if you need help.

There's a detailing thread just for this!

There are waxs that range from $10 - $1000 so your budget needs to be clear.

feel the surface of your car, say the hood area. does it feel soft? if not, take these steps as i have and you will be 100% satisfied

1) wash your g thoroughly using a dish wash soap to remove the previous wax ( i use dawn)

2) use clay bar cleaner to remove any debris and spots (i use mothers clay bar)

3) give it a good coat of wax (2 coats on the hood, roof, and trunk) and polish (i use meguiar's nxt tech wax 2.0)

4) finish it off with zaino ultra clean gloss enhancer

you will be amazed...almost looks factory fresh

good luck bro!!

Keeping it clean & shiny....!

One wax that I've recommended to friends (they love it) is Zymol liquid. Most autoparts stores sell it, and I believe PepBoys and Target carry it too. Buy yourself some microfiber applicators to apply and microfiber towels to remove. That will eliminate scratches and swirls we all dislike, and don't forget clay and detail spray it's not a good idea to wax over crud on your painted surface...have fun enjoying your shiny G....

I use Natty's Blue Paste wax and really like it. Gives a deep, liquid look to the paint.
