Stop the Rear-View Mirror Vibration Noise!

Even now when I'm playing a song with some decent base (Volume 11-12) my rear view starts rattling. When I hold it in place the sound stops so i'm sure thats it. It just seems that the size of the mirror is just a tad small to be causing a sound for everyone right? Is there some easy to this? I'll be gtting a sub put in next week sometime and i can't even imagine the rattling sound on it when that happens.

check and see if the rattle noise is coming from the homelink buttons (if you have the premium package.) I had the same problem and took the mirror apart. Stuffed a little foam between the buttons and the sensors and all's well.

I recently noticed that problem as well... the rattling annoys the crap out of me when I'm driving. It's intermittent though... sometimes I get it, sometimes it's gone... ??

Yes its intermittent. For me, it sometimes depends on the song and just the bass in it. I do have the premium package and the homelink buttons but i'm a little weary to take the whole thing apart. I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.

It was a major b*tch getting the assembly apart with a spackle. You can break it if you're not careful. The next time you hear the rattle, press lightly on the buttons and see if it goes away to verify it's the buttons.

My dealership couldn't replicate jack crap and when they did, it still didn't get fixed so I took matters into my own hands. If your dealership is better, have them look at it. I've read on this board that some have had their's replaced with good results.

I have the same problem and my dealer in WPB, FL agreed to replace the mirror. Now I just need to get find some time to have them swap it out. It was really hard to pinpoint the problem as the sound seemed to be coming from the Navi system. I'll let you know if it does the trick.

Usually the rattle comes from the wires in the back of the mirror. Wrap some foam tape around it and it should be fine.
