What does "REV" mean on the Dash lights?

I looked at a 05' G35 yesterday and it was perfect but there was a light in the center top of the dash that said "REV" What does this mean?

its a shift light. It tell you when you can shift the car perfectly based on your input desired RPM.

you can also set the rpms at which it goes of, press the button for the trip meter until you get to a rpm reading, once there hold it down until it flashes, select the rpm range you wish the ligh will flash 500 rpms before it hits it and turn solid when it is on it.

So does that mean that it's a "REV UP" G35? What does that mean exactly?

^Revup VQ = higher hp but lower tq. Redline is higher as well than with non-revups.
Revup VQ's only found in 05-07 6mt coupes and 05-06 6mt first gen sedans.

^Correct, 05 6mt's have revup VQ's.

FYI: The REV light stays on all the time (normal). When you use that shift point function as described, there's a red light that comes on under the rev light.

I actually had them turn mine off when I bought it. It bugged me and I figured after 20 years of driving a manual I pretty much know when to shift.

I have one in my Jeep also but I can't turn it off. I have oversized tires and if I shifted when it wanted I would be going 25 on the freeway.
