Ridiculousness Part 3: HELP

Ok guys,

Yet again I am plagued with problems. The first two times were the horrible windows.....now it is my freaking "Gas Door".

It would appear that my gas door will not open anymore, with the doors unlocked. I really am getting ticked off about these stupid little problems!! I never even had a warning....my gas door has always worked perfectly.

You know in baseball, three strikes and you're out....I am almost to that point. I love my vehicle a lot....but these little problems are beyond understanding. I won't ditch the car, but my Infiniti dealer along with Infiniti Consumer Affairs will get a novel-full of my opinions in regards to the vehicle.

If anyone knows a magical fix for the door, please let me know. Thanks for your time.

I believe it's necessary to "double-click" the fob so both the driver's and passenger side doors are unlocked before the gas lid unlocks. Having just the driver's side unlocked won't do it.

Right?

This is NOT true on my coupe. I think it might be true on earlier models.

Re: Ridiculousness Part 3: HELP

Just want to re-iterate that this problem has never occured from the time I bought it back in November 2002 (1st shipment). Basically I've always unlocked the doors from the inside and that always unlocked the gas door. Oh well, its like someone said before....the car works fine for 1 to 2 years and then these little issues creep up. Oh well, I still love my car in spite...just a little disappointed that this happened in the first place....just like the millions of window issues.

Just a thought, could this have something to do with the valet switch used to protect the trunk when car is valeted? Just a wild guess.

Re: Ridiculousness Part 3: HELP

On my coupe's key fob, one "unlock" button press unlocks only the driver's door. Two presses in quick succession unlocks both doors and the fuel door.
