03 g35

Picked up a used g35 the other day from a private seller.

diamond graphite, 75k - auto tranny. wanted to get the auto since i have a 09 cbr1000rr and would prefer to not have to shift while in a car.

came with a JDM double din dash with 2 navigation systems...pop up and pioneer which i'm swapping out for an alpine dvd/ipod touchscreen...the 505 i think.

front bumper was cracked so i used it as a reason to knock the price down more.....

replaced it with a Nismo front. Got a Kenstyle rear while I was at it and a roof spoiler. Its in the shop getting them installed.

Also came with 20" black with chrome Sporza wheels and new Z rated tires.

things i have on order for it:

Stillen CAI with Z-tube
MREV2
5/16th Iso thermal

next up:
06 headlights with overlays to black out the front and back
XYZ pipe with resonator (or should i just go with the straight pipe?)
TDX Shockwave

Car has 75k miles on it. Previous owner did no work under the hood as far as aftermarket parts go.

Why don't you think I should get the mrev2?

I read that it works on my VQ also.

mrev2 more of a rev-up motor mod than a base DE motor.

the price your spending on the mrev2 isnt worth the 2-3 hp gain. but it can be used, just saying to save your cash for something else.

okay. i'll keep searching around for more info. last i read, it said that it was good on these engines too....

just ordered an XYZ with straight pipe. i have a friend that can pass it on smog....i wonder how pissy cops will get here in california. .....motorcycles are way louder and a lot of the trucks out here have major drone......can't imagine this being that loud.

you should of got the resonator.. your exhaust is going to be hella loud.

also the HR ypipe has been proven on a dyno to make 6 hp and doesnt lose bottom end unlike the xyz pipe

I guess if it's too loud I'll order the resonator seperatly. If other members are running a straight I can't imagine it being too loud to handle. I ride my cbr1000rr with a full system and no silencer. Is it louder than a bike exaust?

looks like i'll be getting the kenstyle sideskirts.

got the g today from the shop.

drove over to riverside where i got a grounding kit installed by sentientbydesign. 9 wire setup in blue. looks fantastic.

he also changed out my AC air filter and installed my z-tube along with stillen CAI.

very knowledgeable guy.

the drive home was amazing. i thought at first it was a placebo affect when i turned on my car and it lit up quick.....didn't notice much as far as the sound system goes....however the change track and volume on my wheel are almost perfectly responsive.

throttle is more responsive....noticeably....gear changes are much smoother and quicker. and MANUAL MODE IS AMAZING NOW! seriously......pretty much eliminated the lag......IMO it's perfect. as soon as i switch the gears now it goes. now i just need to get it so that upshift is down and downshift is up.
