I'm sure everyone has different taste, but I see nothing bad about the coupe's interior.
it's modern, simple and clean....I like it a lot.
I've never heard any negative comments from people, they all said the car looks gorgeous inside and out....and I totally agree with them!

Not only is the interior a little lacking. Design is good, but materials are lame. Too much plastic: The door handles should be aluminum. The center console should be aluminum. The illumination is ugly, and should be a brighter and different color. The car should have memory seats. The fake aluminum door handles should also be real aluminum.

But worse of all is the lack of adequate sound deadening. Road noise sucks in this car. It's actually dreadful. I traveled to Philly from NYC this week, and the car sucked sucked sucked as far as comfort. Performance is incredible, but the car bounced and pitched all over the NJ turnpike with tons of tire roar. Sucked sucked sucked.

The G35 coupe has some short comings but the performance makes up for those. You can spend $20,000 more and get a M3, it has kick *** performance like a G and a really sweet interior. You cant have the world for $35000....

It is amazing to me to hear the night and day difference of opinion on the interior of this car. I think it comes down to what your used to. My last sports car was an 87 911. The G35 is faster, much quieter, more reliable, handles better.......
not knocking the 911 just trying to make a compairson.
Compaired to a Cadillac there is too much plastic, they should use real aluminum, the illumination is ugly, don't forgit the total lack of sound deadening, the road noise sucks sucks sucks and the car bounces too much.
What I cannot understand is why people test drive, then buy this car and then complain. There is always room for improvement but this will never be a Cadillac.

I'd have to agree with GG35. No offense but I think it's just plain dumb to spend 35K on a car you don't even like. I mean did you happen to notice the interior before you bought it? Did you even look in the car? Did you test drive it on the freeway??

Hey, this car sucks! I hate the interior, I hate the amber display, I hate the road noise, I hate the fake aluminum....Hey! I think I'll buy it!!! Now there's a great idea!!!

Why don't you haters sell your G's and buy something else you don't like.

Re: Why does the G35's interior have to be so blah

the points made before are completely off . . .

Listen, nobody gets a chance to test drive a G for more than a few minutes, and certainly you're not going to be able to drive a long distance on different types of pavement before realizing that the car has a road noise problem.

For anyone to say that people who complain about the G, should have known of these qualities/defects is just plain wrong.

Yeah, the interior is what it is. But after you live with the car, you realize how annoying certain things could be. Take for instance, the lack of memory seats. I never thought it made that much of a difference. But now after every car wash when the interior gets vacuumed. I spend 10 minutes trying to get my comfortable seating position back. These are things that you don't necessarily realize before you buy the car even after you test drive it.

Finally, there is the element of competition. If the rest of the market at the G's price had the same features and quality interior, nobody would be bummed. But when the Acura TL comes out a year later and has a kicking interior for the same price . . .Everybody starts to bitch because it makes no sense that Infiniti couldn't have the same quality interior.

so there you have it . . .before all of you get crazy defensive about "your rides," consider my points above. I think they're valid.

. . .and for the record, I really like the G, but I would love it without the road noise.

i think the g35 interior is not bad. it doesnt have all the bells and whistles like an acura tl. it has a simple basic functional interior. i used to have a 99 corvette, and to me, it feels like the interior and ride quality is very similar to the vette. i like the interior. acura needs to add all those bells and whistles to make up for the lack of performance. its like sony electronics. the quality of the produuct is so so, but the make it look so friggin nice and put in little features that other companies dont.

Re: Why does the G35's interior have to be so blah

I've only had my coupe for about 2 days, but so far I don't really have any quibbles about the interior. My previous car (2002 Volvo S60) was, IMO, very comfortable, although not really asthetically pleasing on the inside. In terms of ride quality, harshness, noise, and interior comfort, the G35 coupe is very similar to my old ride.

So I guess it all just depends on what you're coming from. Coming from my Volvo, I was looking for similar comfort and more performance. Like somebody said before... it's a drivers car. I haven't even taken it above 4000rpms and already i'm in love with the sound and performance. It shows where infiniti chose to spend their money on this car. From my first test drive, I was sold (although the TL was a very nice car, it was FWD, which i did not want).

Like someone else said before, if you're not totally happy with it, don't get it. Try to test drive it a few more times (I did it 4 times at 4 different dealerships and 4 different sets of roads). If you're still not happy with it, definitely don't get it. Spending almost $40k (fully loaded) on a car you're not 100% happy with is a mistake.

of course, take this for what it's worth, it's only my $0.02 on the matter

The TL handles like [censored]. The following competitors all handle better according to Consumer Reports handling tests/ratings: G35, IS300, 330, A4 3.0 quattro, C320, & X-Type 3.0. The only comepetitors it handles better than are the I35 & ES330. Anyone who wants a sports sedan shouldn't even consider the TL IMO.

My point is, every car in this price range compromises somewhere (the 330i doesn't compromise majorly in any big way but costs a bit much).

we shouldn't expect G35C interior as good as TL's since it has already had more power and RWD to make it up. But memory seats, projector light, and real aluminium trim should be standard for almost 40G car. Let's wait until 2005 model !!

Re: Why does the G35's interior have to be so blah

i just find it amusing that in the past, i've come across people ragging on evos and stis for having ugly interiors and exteriors...

but when someone brings up points about the g35's interior, suddenly it's: "oh it's a driver's car" "you can't have everything" "you're not going to notice".

anyway, the g is a great car. i dont' think you'll be disappointed at all. it DOES come down to what you look for. do you WANT performance? do you WANT to modify? do you WANT a family? or is this just a vanity piece?

if you want a car that you can drive hard and still have for luxury/status symbol, by all means get the g35. if you simply want a good looking, luxurious car with a top-notch interior that you'll never regret, get the TL.

as far as looks between the two cars, i think they're both about equal. i'll probably get flamed for this, but i love the looks of both cars--the g may be sexier, but it's more conservative and is already much more aged in appearance than the newer/edgier TL. so i give em equal ratings in that regards. performance will go to the G, luxury goes to the TL. if you want a car that is hands down more of the 'driver's' car, then get the g35. if you buy the car purely for looks, then you're going to be disappointed during its life with you.
