Exclamation My Gs First Car accident /:

so im a block away from my house, waiting for the stoplight to turn green, when a lot of sudden a Lincoln Mountainer hits me from the back. i get out of my vehicle, and the bottom of my rear bumper is cracked, dented, and scratched. /: there are also some on my trunk. Luckly, everyone was alright, but the thing that pissed me off the most was how much of a jerk the dude was being. the driver was a younger kid, probably around 16. He and everybody else had no license with them, so i had to follow the father, who was passenger, home, so he can give me his license. At first they were refusing to give me any info, and they were questioning me on who the f*** i was calling. i was like what?!! you just hit my car and your telling me what to do?! . so long story short, i need a rear bumper, i guess it doesnt matter what color since my insurance is going to be painting it. I am SOCal, so if anyone has one for sale, please let me know, thanks. FML

Condolences dude. Remember my first accident too. You've handled it well and hopefully your insurance clears everything up quickly and properly for you.

First off, u should not be getting a used OEM bumper, insurance should be buying u a new one
Second, if u find a shop chill enough u can get aftermarket but it all depends on the shop. My first accident fucked up my air intake so I got a JWT pop charger instead of a stock airbox and pocketed ~$200

Honestly you don't have to tell the insurance company anything. All they should be doing is giving you an estimate for the repairs. Make sure they give you an estimate for a new bumper though and not a reconditioned one. Once the check is cut to either you or the body shop, you can pretty much buy what you want assuming the shop is cool with aftermarket installs. I was recently involved in an accident myself and it wasn't my fault. Took the G to a body shop that does custom work and had them buy me aftermarket front bumper, side skirts, and 06 projectors with the insurance money.

How come your insurance is paying if the other driver was at fault?

Word, I would have done the same thing while insulting them. I'm going to lose my head if some punk kid rear ends me and then gives me some attitude.

you should've replied "why don't u shut the **** up... and deal with the popo ***** f***a" ...

p.s: u should really take some better pics.. perhaps a wider view of the whole bumper... i know its tempting in a situation like that to put your camera up close to the damage.

*UPDATE.
Alright so my insurance just contacted me, and they gave me 3 options.
First, they said my insurance, State Farm, has their own shops ofcourse and I will be just dropping off my vehicle and they will repair it back to normal. I won't have to worry about anything.

Second, they said I can choose my own shop, they would send an agent to see the damage and then the shop can take care of it, I am kind of leaning toward this since I want a chargespeed rear installed.

Third, they called this "drive- thru" they said I can drive my vehicle and b inspected by an agent and they will calculate the damage and give me cash and I can take care of the rear and paint, I am also taking this into consideration since I can get a rear bumper on driver for a good price and maybe pocket some cash, what do u guys think?

i've got a stock rear bumper painted to match your car. DG.

its OEM too. I had it as a replacement and decided to go with an aftermarket.

You can buy mine and pocket the money your insurance gives you to do some work under your hood. if you want, i can even give you a receipt saying you paid more than what i'll charge you for it so you get a larger amount of money back. =)
