Electrical Problem…
Yesterday afternoon I developed a couple of problems with my G. First, the passenger side window went down, but would not come back up. Every time I hit the switch, I would hear a couple of clicks, but the window would not go up. Second, the passenger side seat would recline, but would not come back up. After playing with the switch for about an hour, I was able to get the seat to come back up.
I couldn’t leave my G in the parking lot at work with the window down, so I immediately left work and went to the nearest Infiniti dealership (Infiniti of Tustin). Luckily my car is still under factory warranty, so this didn’t cost me anything. I also want to compliment them on the great and immediate customer service.
Anyway, they found that the motor in the window was bad, so they replaced it. It took them a little over an hour and I was back on the road with a fully functional passenger side window. I just thought it was a bit weird the way the window motor failed. There was no hint that the motor was failing. I would have expected the window to start to slow down or something…it just stopped working suddenly and completely out of nowhere.
Oh the seat…well they found that the switch in the seat was bad. This is where things get a little stupid. According to the customer service representative, Nissan/Infiniti does not sell just the switch…they have to replace what they call the entire seat assembly. The lady said the entire bottom portion of my seat…leather and all will be replaced just because of a bad switch. She even admitted that it was kind of stupid.
They had to order the seat assembly, so I will have to go back next week for the installation. All I have to say is…I would be really pissed if I have to pay for the entire bottom portion of a seat (leather and all) just to replace a broken switch.

The faulty window regulator/motor has been a common problem for a lot of G35 owners. Mines went out without notice, just like yours, about 3 yrs into owning the car. I also had the bottom portion of the driver's side replaced because there was a little tear (factory recall). Good to hear everything was covered under warranty.
the foam seat is sprinkling **** underneath the seat as well. any idea if the recall is for more than just the 05 models?
