mix matching coil overs
mix matching coil overs
I met a guy yesterday who told me we can mix match coilovers. I originally bought the tein flex setup but the ride was way too rough so i ended up swapping them for the tein comfort. I have the whole setup with edfc and everything and don't want to just trash that. So a guy suggested to buy a different brand spring (stiffer spring rate)and just swap them into the tein housing. Anyone know if this is even possible and any problems that it might run into? recommendations on how to get stiffer springs but not crazy like the flex. This is also my daily driver.

Looks like he said he had the flex but was too stiff and traded for the flex and those are too soft.

There are a lot of coilover companies that use the same exact design, they just change the color/spring rates/valving, but size wise, all the components are the same. Sounds like you need springs off of a set of Basics (500 spring rate, where flex are 6xx and CS are high 300's i think). If you want to try them i have a full set laying in my backyard (trashed one of the front shocks in an accident so had to buy a new set of coils) PM if you want them.

so i swap the springs with the basics are all my ride height adjustments and everything should still work? BTW i had flex but changed it to comfort now looking for something in between.
