350z / G35c Problems

ok.. so i have been reading up on a lot of info between the Z's and the G's,......

right now, the Z guyz are battleing alighnment / tire issues / loose axels..... while what i have noticed here is window regulator, some tire issues, loose axels, trannie (6mt)..

what i want to know is.. are any of the members here experiencing the alighnment/ tire issues the Z guys are faceing right now.. after reading their forums, i was horrified and will not touch a Z until nissan corrects this issue.. hopefully the class action law suit will get nissan do fix this..

please post up..

thanks

Re: 350z / G35c

Not that I've heard of, what is the issue with the z's? Or can you point me a good thread that talks about this on another board (the one that horrified you), thanks.

Cd players going, clicking from rear axle, and windows seem to be the g's main problems from what I've noticed. I've had my windows re-aligned, my axle bushings cleaned and my cd player is getting replaced on Monday. So far their fixes have worked, we'll see about the cd player.

People complain about the g35 going through tires too quickly. I belive the stock ones are only supposed to last 20,000 miles, but with aggressive driving that goes down fast. Some members tires lasted <10K, from what I read they called infiniti and got new tires for free.

Brakes (non-brembo) also go quickly, but infiniti covers the rotors and pads for free until 36k. Again, these are high-performance pads so you go through them really quickly. You can always buy touring tires and longer lasting brake pads, but there goes the fun of the car (imo).

Nate

1200 miles no problems yet. Most cars have bugs that need to be worked out in the 1st year. The G is no exception. Consumer guide rates this car much better than average.

Re: 350z / G35c

I am closing in on 20K miles on my 04 "G" and no alignment or tire issues whatsoever. I had the window regulator which was fixed at 18K miles and some "fogging" on my headlights which wasnt really fog and could be buffed out which the dealer did as well. My biggest concern has been the chips on my hood which I will get repainted as well as replace my front bumper soon. That will cost me 1,400.00 soon to get done, and I will get my bumper clearbra'd after the fix and I will continue to use the colgan bra on my hood portion. Other than that this car has been a tank for me as my daily driver and it is also my office on wheels and handles like a dream on the 101 and the 17.

Re: 350z / G35c

sounds good.. agian, after seeing whats going on with the Z guys, im 99% going with a G... once i sell my curren ride, a nice white or black G 6MT.. 04 or 05 (really want the 295)...

anyhow.. the Z's are in for it.. if they didnt have that crap going on, i prob would of got the Track edition Z (white)..

also, looks like Inifinity affiars or whatever you call it handles things well (if you can speak their language)

Re: 350z / G35c Problems

Currently going trough the feathering issue. My dealer rotated the fronts (unmounted) and the noise (loud roar when braking) has subsided for now. They said the alignment was in spec. I wish I knew what created the feathering in the first place... They said they would monitor the problem, not the answer I was looking for! I have about 10k on the 18" Pilots.

Re: 350z / G35c Problems

Directional tires with big SOFT tread blocks coupled with Camber and High levels of Caster cause heel/toe feathering of the tread blocks.............non directionals have similiar less severe problems just easier to fix by simple rotation.

The 220 treadwear index means quick wear if they are stressed. But that is necessary to get the handling numbers need for performance sales [slalom and braking] and magazine articles.
Changing the toe inward can sometimes counteract the problem for a little while.

Re: 350z / G35c

OMG, I have PROBLEMS LIKE NO OTHER!
My CD player is all screwey... Sometimes there is no sound coming out of my left speakers.
My "Check ABS" light is on.
Today, my SLIP light came on and stayed on while my navigation said something was wrong with My VDC...
I had some rattling about 3 months ago but they fixed that.
My windows down go up or down... sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 tried to get them up...
and I've only had the car for about 5 months...
I'm telling you, this is getting really irritating...
But for some reason, i'm still loving the car. Good thing I'm bringing it in for service on Wed... I bet they're going to have to keep the car for a month to try and figure out what the hell is going on with my car.
