Re: Question for those with synthetic oil???

I switched at 2000 miles. I broke my G in on dino with the "ride her hard and put her away wet" philosophy, then switched to Mobil 1. Be prepared for a never ending controversy over this topic. Before you decide for yourself, might want to study up. Do a google and prepare to read. Also, remember that there are several different kinds of engines, metals, and cooling methods. What's right for a liquid cooled may not apply for air cooled, and vice versa. Chromed, nickel, and other cylinder/piston configurations have many people confused as to why certain oils and break ins should or should not be performed. I'm not saying I'm in the know, I'm just saying you may want to study up and draw your own conclusion. I pretty sure I came to the proper conclusion, or I wouldn't have done what I did, but you may feel better if you do some research yourself.

After 400 miles. This is my third car fully on Mobil 1. The other ones reached over 200k without an engine glitch (perfect valves). At every oil change (4-6k depending on filter) I feel improvement and better MPG.
