so here it goes, i pay $1,120 for 6mo. i have 2 dui's :/. (i think one fell off my record). my coverage is 100/300/50. i am 30. complay is progressive.

The only thing I miss about California was paying $700 a YEAR for auto insurance on my sedan. Insurance is a JOKE in Vegas. I'm now paying $850 for only 6 months (more than double!) I have a perfect driving record and I'm 28 years old. Insurance here is out of control.

You cannot compare insurance rates unless you live in the same zip code, are the same age, have the exact same driving record and credit score. There are hundreds of variables that go into your insurance premium.... The only perosn that can tell you if you are getting "ripped off" is your local Independent Insurance Agent.

out of control? try living in jersey..i know people that pay over 5k a year for insurance..

6. I think the biggest part of insurance is whether or not they will pay out. When my 96 maxima was totaled in 11/00 they gave me $15,200 for it and I had paid $14,500 just six months earlier for the car. My friend went with a much cheaper insurance company and when his mustang was in an accident they only let him take it to a terrible body shop (got paint on windows and convertible top) and the whole process took him 4 months to get his car back. Took the police 3 days to finish my police report (was a hit and run), insurance had me the check 2 days after. Also, I can do everything online with farmer's (pay bill, file claim), which is important to me.
