how to test a set of 06 headlight without installing it on the car?

Ok, Im buying a set of 06 projector light that does not include bulb nor ballast locally.
What are some stuffs I need to inspect/test on the headlight to make sure they work?
Its not installed, so he says he can't show me.

How can I test the headlight to make sure it works, without actually installing on the car with plugs..etc?

I have a extra set of OEM D2S bulb that im taking with me. Is there any way to test the headlight with just set of bulbs without ballast without actually installing it on my car?

please need help on this asap. im picking them up tonight!

thanks in advance!

Basically, just inspect with you eyes because there isn't really anything that can "break"... Unless the car has been in an accident and the headlights are rebuilted check for the tabs, check if the lens has been removed or not before and if not, it should all be good.

I would post something in the lighting section. Im sure someone that has modded their headlights may have some insight for you. Im sure there is a way to test (maybe some kind of 12 volt inverter box or something)

I don't know of a way to test these headlights until they're installed. Since you're buying them locally make a deal with the seller that they work. Visually inspect them for any damage, now buy the correct bulbs and install. We have an install vid here on Driver....search. Should be easy, they're just a plug and play since you can use your OEM ballast....G/L

Well then maybe people shouldn't ask idiotic questions. Everybody knows easiest way to test is by actually hooking up to the car and there's no other way.

If you're buying them and using your own ballast/bulbs, there isn't much to worry about except the physical appearance.

The electronics should work fine. The only thing may be the high-beams, I think thats mechanical.

Only the questions that don't get asked are idiotic, apparently there's only one answer to his question and that's to install them. I wouldn't use your old bulbs in the new projector lights, you're not replacing them to get the same old results....they're projectors get new bulbs! Never do a job half azz, you'll be disappointed with the results....

If you're just buying the physical headlights, no electronics, then you can probably get by with a good inspection.

Otherwise, you can bring your own HID bulb and ballast, hook it up to a modified computer power supply or any 12V power supply, and then you can tell if the cutoff pattern is ok.

There is such a thing as a "stupid question". If your mommy or your teacher told you there are no stupid questions then go smack them in the head.
