Salvage titles do not have warranties (or factory warranties at least) unless otherwise stated by the dealer.

In the month you've been waiting you could have learned how to drive MT! I know plenty of G's that are for sale up here in Canada

The key to buying a car is being patient. Look in the marketplace, and in different surrounding states - I'm sure there are at least a handful of good candidates.

So... If I get a car that was hit from the rear end, and the engine is defective and takes in oil, I have to pay for the new engine in full?

If it was declared a salvage title, then yes you would have to pay in full.
