What's the real deal on spacers?

I want an agressive look and some .5 inch spacers would surely do it but what's the good bad and the ugly
Are they safe?
Does it matter about the brand?
Does any one have any?
Does it change the ride?
Were should I get them from?

Here are some pix from another member's question...+1 on the search

The safety question could spark a whole thread, and it has.

For me I've been running mine for 5 months and they have been rock solid.

Brand can have a big effect on quality. (I'm running Ichiba V2's and they were really well made)

Yup

Yes, They make the stance of the car wider, so turns feel flatter, less roll. But see first statement. (Anything that pushes the wheel further out from stock will add stress to the hub/connected suspension pieces. SO the harder you push, the higher the chance of failure)

I got mine from Statik here on the marketplace. Great vendor IMO, and you've got choices from used to new just a click away...

I bought 20mm spacers from ebay. I think the total came to $80 for all 4. The only thing that I did, to ensure that the wheel spacer lugs dont come loose, is add a little locktite to them. Other than that, I have been running them for about 3 months now. In my own opinion, our cars look alot more aggressive/nicer with either wheel spacers or wheel ofsets.
