Few questions

Okay, so even though I havent gotten my coupe yet (searching everyday) I have been reading through this forum and making my mod list (bit by the mod bug at age 12) and I have a few question. . .first here is my exterior setup at the moment

Nismo Front Bumper
Chargespeed Rear
Tanabe Sustec Pro Coilovers
R1 Hype rims 20" staggered (+15 offset with spacers)
245/35 front, 275/30 rear

Okay so my first question is this: what side skirts would go well with what I have listed here? I want everything to look leveled.

Second Question: How low should I drop it? I dont know just how much lower the Nismo makes the front, but I want like or three or four inch clearance from the ground to the bumper so that i can still drive reasonably. In addition i want my fender to sit about a finger gap above my wheels. . .don't know if that combination is feasible.

Can those of you who have coilovers post pics and mention how low you dropped your car on them and your ground clearance please? I don't care what body kit you have, but if you have the NISMO front bumper on coilovers definately post pics with drop height and ground clearance.

I know this is hella specific. . . but I didn't know how else to get it answered. . .THANK YOU!!

Skirts, INGS hands down.

If you only plan on going that low and thats it, I would say get some springs. Way cheaper and don't affect ride quality too much. Tein S-Techs would probably be good or Eibach Sports if you want to spend a little more cash.

Coil overs are going to vary depending on the brand. A tein coil over dropped this much might be higher/lower than a tanabe coil over dropped this much. So that is going to be tougher to answer.

I think the Nismo front hangs about an inch and a bit lower than stock. (someone correct me?)

Why bother buying wheels with the wrong offsets then adding spacers? Why not just buy the right offsets?

I haven't found the right wheel/offset combination. . . if you know of some wheels that are similar to the Hype wheels, let me know please! and i chose coilovers because of the option of going lower, should i not be satisfied with my look. . . in addition spring/combos are not much cheaper. . . unless i've been looking in the wrong places. . .

I would say look for +30mm offsets but depends how wide you go. I would buy the Axis shine, looks pretty much the same and comes it much more suitable sizes and offsets, plus I know more about Axis than I do R1. (quality and build wise)

I say INGS because they make nice stuff and it lines up well with the nismo. It is also a pretty simple design that looks like it could have come from the factory. The Hikkatadori replicas are pretty solid as well.

Where have you been looking for springs and coil overs?
A Coil over setup at entry level, tein basics, is going to be about $1100 new or $800ish used. Plus install which is around $300 or $400. Unless you're up to the swap yourself.
Springs are like $200 new and could be had for $100 used. maybe $200 for install and are much easier to do yourself. You can do them with little knowledge and a DIY here on the forum.

I am not trying to persuade you out of buying coil overs I say get them if your budget is there. Btw, I don't know what the Tanabe coils are worth so I used Tein. I assume Tanabe are a little more money.

With regards to the offset, the Hype wheels have a +25mm offset up front and +30 offset out back. . . that will not sit the wheels flush with the fender, and so spacers help to fix that. . . Thus the reason why I want to get spacers. I personally am not a big fan of the Axis Shine. . . .just my own personal preference on that. . .

With regards to coilovers vs springs. . .the reason why I am opting for coilovers is the fact that it has the spring and shock/strut combination together already. . .and it will allow me to adjust the height if I want to. If I buy just springs, I will still have to get shocks/struts with them. The cost of the two separately is not much cheaper than the coilover system. . .

Thank you for your advice!

Oh, well than yea coil overs are a go. I'm getting myself some soon as well!

I thought the Shine looked nearly identical to the hypes lol Both are pretty nice looking wheels though.
