Keyless entry programming

I just bought a new keyless entry fob thing for my 05 g35 and im trying to figure out how to program the key fob to the car? the fob came with some instructions which said to insert the key into the ignition 6 or more times within 10 seconds, and there should be an indication and you press one of the buttons on the fob. ive tried this and gotten to the indication point but no further. Has anyone out there programmed one of these things?

Youre just missing one step.

After the hazards flash twice from inserting the key 6 times, reinsert the key and turn it to the ACC position. Next press the lock button on the fob once. The hazards will flash twice again. Your remote should be programmed now.

Yeah, so I did the same thing and the hazards aren't flashing twice after I push the lock or unlock button on the remote. The hazards flash after inserting/removing key, but I've followed all the steps and the remote doesn't get recognized. I programmed a remote for the car 2 years ago and it's worked fine; a few weeks ago my battery died in the car and the keyless entry hasn't worked since. I just bought a new remote and it doesn't want to program either. Is it possible something is wrong with the car? A fuse or something? Help!

Thanks

have you checked the new remote's battery? might be dead.
