DO NOT use anything abrasive on your paint if some glue is still on. Heat it up and rub with the base of your thumb. No Nails, No Scrub Pad.
Also if you use Goo Gone, of Goof Off. Make sure to wash the area with some dishwasher soap when you are done.
Good luck!

First, use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive. Then taking fishing wire (not dental floss, it falls apart) and go under the letters to lift them up. Then use the hair dryer again to heat up the exposed adhesive. Spray goo gone, and let it sit. Wipe off adhesive.
This IS NOT as easy as people make it out to be. Getting the adhesive off can be a real PITA. Good luck.

Gotta question....SEARCH the answers are there!
I don't get it, there have been volumes written about DEBADGING and a simple SEARCH would have revealed everything you need to know. From reading the posts above there's also misinformation about how to DEBADGE a trunk lid. Ok one more time: You can use a hairdryer if the weather's cool.
1. Fishing line
2. GooGone or WD40 for removal of any glue left on the painted surface. You may need to saturate a rag but don't apply excessive pressure cause you'll scratch the paint. Keep it super wet while removing, that works best.
3. Once the glue is gone and since your cars aren't new you need to clean the lid by using clay/detail spray. Then Meguiar's ScratchX or Nu Finish Scratch Doctor to remove any scratches or shadows left from the letters.
4. Now apply a good quality wax using applicator pads and wipe off with micro towels for a perfect finish.
Do not use anything other than what I have listed above....No dish detergent, rubbing compounds or scrub pads!
