Like viper said, unless you have extra cash to throw around or if your old bose system fails on you, probably not worth it.

My thinking was to if i were to replace the broken orginal bose system headunit, new was more than 500$ every where i checked (Canada) and getting a second hand one 250ish , but what makes you think that it wont crap out. mine was done at 50000KM's.

Do what suits your lifestyle.

I plan on returning to the age of a CarPC in my daily driver. I had one in my 1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and it worked great. I'll have the fun task of removing the stock head unit/etc.. and replacing it with a 7" In-Dash VGA display and Pioneer head unit. Will all run to my small-form Shuttle PC in the trunk somewhere. I'll figure it out when I get my new ride soon enough!

I ran a Kenwood DNX unit in my G... loved it and the most user friendly one Ive seen. But the sound quality took a sh*t kicking on the BOSE system...

Also, make sure you get the JDM DD kit, and not a Metra or knockoff... Anyone with a JDM and have seen the others can vouch that they look CHEAP compared to the JDM one.
FYI the JDM ones in Canada run almost 5 bills so.

Thats because compared to the JDM kit, the metra ones are cheap. I have one in my car and I think it looks fine.

You get what you pay for.

agreed about the kits, metra and jdm.

I couldnt justify another 400 dollars for JDM. Honestly the only person that notices anything is me. Yes the buttons aren't the greatest looking, but they are fine. I can't justify spending the extra on just looks, the 400 dollars would get you a nice DD. most people are impressed by the DD and dont notice the button quality. The colour isn't perfect match either but again only you will notice, because its pretty close.
