help me figure out the problem

so last night my friends and i were pushing my car pretty hard, just having fun, and the next day i go to drive it, i feel the throttle over-responding to my pushing down on the gas. in all gears when i floor it (or even trying to accelerate slowly), instead of it gradually accelerating, it goes from 2k rpms to 5 or 6k in little time, and then back down to 3 1/2 or 4k rpms, but its almost as if im in neutral because the car isnt accelerating with the throttle..car is not under warranty so im hoping its nothing huge.
help me out?
also, when i get out of the car i can smell that the tires have been burning

Thanks

Assuming you have a 6MT your clutch is gone!
That smell is the clutch disc.

lol sounds like you beat the crap out of your clutch, it's most likely slipping which means you are about to pay up the **** for that night of fun. since im assuming you are a kid by your name and what you did, i would start washing your parents cars now.

i think the night of fun was the final straw for it, i have really ran it hard and i always use neutral instead of riding the clutch, the car was used so the previous owner could have had an effect on it....plus its nearly pushing 100k miles
i dont think the reason the clutch is gone is because i had 1 night of fun for about 15 minutes

Well, if you car has the stock clutch and it's got 100K on it, it's lived a good life!

Good luck deciding what clutch to replace it with! I'm almost in the same boat!

well you might want to look into getting an upgraded clutch, i am for sure as soon as my clutch decides to go. as long as you arent doing the infamous sti 6k clutch dumps it should last you.

Been there, done that. I have just had a similar experience about a month ago. You will still be able to drive on that clutch for a while, but your gonna need it fixed. New clutch = $500 Labor = $500. Have fun. Hopefully your flywheel isnt in bad shape.

ace is that what you paid for a new clutch and manual labor?
i got a quote today for 2400 and 2900, but im not sure whether its the labor thats expensive or the replacement of the clutch

THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. Depending on the clutch and flywheel will depend on the price. I have SPEC stage 2 with a lightweight flywheel performance factory installed it. total price was 1,500

Wow someone's trying to rip you off. I'm still riding my original clutch, but last year, my local Infiniti dealer quoted me $1800 to replace clutch and flywheel....
