Exclamation M45 shift gear ****?

Has anyone done this? I tried searching, but nothing was found. If anyone did this yet, can they shed some light? I wanna do this mod! I'm starting to hate how the stock auto shifter looks in my car. Thanks to those who know how to make this set up work!

caskyline installed an M45 Sport shift **** for me in my Sedan. Its smaller than the OEM one and sits a little lower. He had to modify it to make it fit, the inner portion was englarged to sit down low enough on the shaft. Its not a direct bolt on, you have to do a custom install for it to sit correctly on the shaft.

He has one installed on his car too and I'm pretty sure he replaced the whole shift boot.

Thanks! Was it hard for caskyline to modify it? I managed to get a M shift ****, but I was a little disappointed that I couldn't just put it on. Do you know how he modified it?

I know he enlarged the inside of the shift ****. I have no idea what tool he used to do it. Its not crazy hard to do, you just have to play around with it a bunch to make it fit right.

Hmm.. I'm guessing like a dremel tool? Thanks for the pics though! Looks nice as hell compared to the stock one!

^Yeah it was a dremel, I'm just not sure what he attached to it. Mabye an cone shaped attachment that as you got to the base of the cone it got wider so the further you'd push it it the larger opening it would make.

Do you know if he still used the original blue plastic piece that was in the stock ****? Or did he get rid of it? I'm about to do this right now since I'm at work..

I thought about the Momo shifter, but it didn't feel appealing to me. I wanted to stick to something oem and I'm trying to figure out what would I need to fabricate to make the M45 gear **** to work on a 06 coupe. Anyone else who did this, know what else is needed? So far I dremeled the gear shifter to fit, but it doesn't properly work yet. I'm getting a lil stumped so far. Any more help would be great on this!

I know I saw a thread a while back that someone posted up how they did the install, if I find it I'll let you know.

I saw that one, but it didn't really help. The first gen is made differently. Thanks though! I found E_K's thread, but the pictures no longer work, sigh. I hope whoever else has this also can at least help out! I know lotta you guys did this mod before. Help a fellow member out!

I used a drill and a large drill bit to enlarge the hole. I did not use the blue plastic piece.

Again this is not a perfect fit, but it does look so much better.

To do this on a 03-04, a shift boot should be added, since they do not come with one.

caskyline, was it hard for you to shift it? I'm just wondering this now because I don't know why I'm having a hard time trying to get it to drive. Did I do something wrong here?
