Kumho tires supposed to be noisy ?? Or is the stealership guy just lying?
#16
I believe any tire should be relatively quieter than mine. I am now confused if the car is meant to be this loud just because it's sporty, or there's some hidden issue with it. Apparently, the car had not been wrecked before, so I am thinking that it shouldn't be a huge issue if it had any. Keeping my fingers crossed. I want to cruise quietly and comfortably.!

Thanks guys for the inputs. I guess it really isn't supposed to be like that. I just put up with it thinking that it is something that comes with the privilege of driving sporty car. Now that I know that it shouldn't sound like that, oh well, let the search begin..
Hopefully it won't break my bank.
When you say stock OEM tires, which ones are you referring to?
when I bought the car from a local guy, it had the kumho (same as my replacement I just bought) already so I am not sure if that's what comes with the car from the factory.

"Speaking of which, I noticed that the car was a little louder when I am making sharp turns"
Okey, does the noise level change when braking also. I had the same problem, the noise sounded a lot like tire noise, like I had some big *** deep tread truck tires on , I noticed a slight sound pitch change when cornering and braking. So I changed the front wheel bearings and the noise went away.

when I make a sharp turn without too much braking, it almost sounds like it's whining in high pitch. Well, I guess it's not that high pitch, but it's definitely not the same noise as the tire roar that I constantly get while cruising. Whenever I am cruising, even if the road is very very well paved, it sounds like tire is rolling over small pebbles every other second and I just know that there isn't anything on the road that might give rise to any noise.
Should I just make them change out the bearings even though they think it's not the cause of the noise? How would I go about persuading them to change it when they think it's not the problem??
I would go check out and see if my tires are balanced well at good year's, but if they check out alright, I guess I should just keep calling the stealership and complain about it if that's the only way to go

I broke my shifter so I called in to schedule an appointment and mentioned the tire noise again and the guy go on and talk about how coupes were just built that way and they tend to be very loud, especially with low profile tires.
Afterall, I am not even sure if what I am hearing is beyond "reasonable" or if it's something that every Coupe drivers live with.
Hopefully there's something wrong with it so they can fix it before the warranty runs out.
